Antiemetic therapy for nausea and vomiting in the last days of life in patients who already take an antiemetic
For patients with nausea or vomiting in the last days of life who already take an antiemetic, continue antiemetic therapy.
For patients with nausea or vomiting who have been taking an oral antiemetic and are unable to swallow, change to an antiemetic that can be administered as a regular subcutaneous injection or a continuous subcutaneous infusion. Prescribe as-required doses of the same drug for symptoms not controlled with regular doses. Seek specialist advice if symptom relief is inadequate.
