Patient advice and follow-up after treatment of asymptomatic Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection

Advise patients toOng, 2023:

• abstain from sexual contact for 7 days after treatment starts, or until treatment is completed and symptoms have resolved (if treating a syndrome or symptomatic infection), whichever occurs later
• notify partners from the last 2 months of the need to seek testing.

Perform a test of cure at least 14 days after treatment completion if using nucleic acid amplification testing (NAAT). If using culture, test of cure may be performed 7 days after treatment completion.
