Diagnosis and management of COVID-19
The management of COVID-19 continues to change as new virus variants emerge and new therapies are approved for use by the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA). The National COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce Australian guidelines for the clinical care of people with COVID-191 provide advice on disease severity, patient treatment and management of special patient groups (eg pregnant people, children).
For advice on case definition, case identification and isolation procedures, see the Communicable Diseases Network Australia (CDNA) National Guidelines for Public Health Units.
For resources specific to primary care, see the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners website.
Speciality groups (eg Australian Rheumatology Association, National Asthma Council), may have guidance on how COVID-19 interacts with their specialty.
Jurisdiction-specific advice (eg access to COVID-19 treatments) may also be available.
