For adults and children with septic jugular thrombophlebitis (including those with associated lung abscess) who have had a severe delayed1 hypersensitivity reaction to a penicillin and who have septic shock, useAbdul-Aziz, 2024Dulhunty, 2024:
meropenem 1 g (child: 20 mg/kg up to 1 g) intravenously, administered as a loading dose over 30 minutes.
