The mainstay of treatment for belching is explanation and reassurance that belching is benignStein, 2014. Belching is usually habitual, though gastro-oesophageal reflux, functional dyspepsia, stress or anxiety may contribute to or precipitate symptoms—if the underlying condition is treated, symptoms may improve.
