Overview of management of gastroparesis

Advise all patients with gastroparesis to adopt dietary modifications. In some patients, especially those with mild symptoms, these measures may be sufficient to control symptoms. Referral to a gastroenterologist may be required if dietary modification is insufficient for managing symptoms or if symptoms are severe—drug therapy or surgery may be appropriateStrijbos, 2019.
