NSAIDs for renal colic

If an NSAID is appropriate for renal colic (see Choosing an analgesic regimen for renal colic), use:

1 celecoxib 200 mg orally, as a single dose renal colic celecoxib    

OR

1 ibuprofen 400 mg orally, as a single dose renal colic ibuprofen    

OR

1 naproxen 500 mg orally, as a single dose renal colic naproxen    

OR

1 ketorolac 10 mg intravenously or intramuscularly, as a single dose. Do not give repeat doses because of the potential for serious adverse effects12 renal colic ketorolac    

OR

1 parecoxib 40 mg intravenously or intramuscularly, as a single dose renal colic parecoxib    

OR

2 diclofenac 100 mg rectally, as a single dose renal colic diclofenac    

OR

2 indometacin 100 mg rectally, as a single dose. renal colic indometacin
