Naltrexone

Naltrexone has a role in relapse prevention for alcohol-dependent patients, and a limited role in opioid-dependent patients. Naltrexone is an opioid antagonist, which blocks mu-receptors, preventing any pleasurable effects from subsequent opioid or alcohol use.
