Resources for children, and families whose child has died
Some children’s hospitals and hospices offer bereavement services; hospital-based social work departments or paediatric palliative care services can provide advice about services available in each state.
The National Centre for Childhood Grief
Canteen provides services, support and information for 12 to 25 year-olds dealing with their own or a close family member’s cancer diagnosis or death. They also provide support to parents of young people with cancer.
Redkite offers services for bereaved adolescents whose sibling has died from cancer, including phone support (from a social worker).
