Symptomatic management for cryoglobulinaemia
Management of any underlying cause for cryoglobulinaemia is important (eg hepatitis C, lymphoproliferative disease).
Symptomatic management is appropriate for arthralgias associated with cryoglobulinaemia; analgesics (such as paracetamol) and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are recommended for patients who have pain and inflammation not severe enough to warrant hospital management.
For adults with pain associated with cryoglobulinaemia, see Oral drugs for mild, acute nociceptive pain in adults for appropriate analgesic recommendations. For children with pain associated with cryoglobulinaemia, see Oral drugs for mild, acute nociceptive pain in children for appropriate analgesic recommendations.
Raynaud phenomenon and digital ischaemia is sometimes associated with cryoglobulinaemia; see the separate topic for management.
