Nonviable pregnancy

Nonviable pregnancy is suggested or confirmed by ultrasound scan1 in conjunction with the date of the last menstrual period and quantitative human chorionic gonadotrophin measurements. Management options are expectant management, medical management (with either mifepristone and misoprostol, or misoprostol alone) or surgical management. Nonviable pregnancy is ideally managed in an early pregnancy assessment service.
