Daily dosing of PDE5 inhibitors for erectile dysfunction
Unlike other PDE5 inhibitors, tadalafil can be taken daily (at a lower dose) rather than intermittently for erectile dysfunction. It is also indicated for treatment of lower urinary tract symptoms in males with benign prostatic hyperplasia.
If frequent use (at least twice weekly) of tadalafil is anticipated and tolerated, and the patient prefers to take a daily dose, use:
tadalafil 2.5 to 5 mg orally, once daily. Use the higher dose for concurrent treatment of urinary symptoms in males with coexisting benign prostatic hyperplasia. erectile dysfunction, with benign prostatic hyperplasia: daily dosing tadalafil
Daily use of tadalafil is not recommended for patients with a creatinine clearance of less than 30 mL/minute.
