Observe symptomatic patients with isopropyl alcohol poisoning until they recover.
Observe asymptomatic patients with isopropyl alcohol poisoning for at least 2 hours after ingestion. If patients remain asymptomatic during this observation period, they can be dischargedStremski, 2000.
If a comorbid disorder of ethanol use is suspected, consider referral to or consultation with a drug and alcohol clinical advisory service.
