Observation and patient disposition after chlorophenoxy herbicide poisoning

Admit patients with evidence of moderate to severe chlorophenoxy herbicide poisoning to a critical care unit.

Admit all other symptomatic patients for at least 24 to 48 hours of observation, as initial mild toxicity can progress to severe toxicity.

Observe patients with accidental ingestions for at least 6 hours and discharge them if they are asymptomatic and have normal investigation results at the end of the observation period.
