Treatment for blue-ringed octopus bites

Treatment for blue-ringed octopus bites includes:

• pressure bandage and immobilisation of the affected limb and the patient
• resuscitation
• supportive care with mechanical ventilation until the respiratory paralysis resolves (usually within 2 to 5 days).
