Community deworming programs

Age-targeted anthelmintic therapy in communities with high rates of intestinal helminth infection improves nutrition and growth. In selected Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities where such infections are endemic, for children between 6 months and 12 years, use:

albendazole orally, as a single dose once a yearalbendazolealbendazolealbendazole

child 6 months or older and 10 kg or more: 400 mg

child 6 months or older and less than 10 kg: 200 mg.
