Normoprolactinaemic galactorrhoea
If a patient with galactorrhoea is found to have a normal serum prolactin concentration (ie normoprolactinaemic galactorrhoea), further investigation (eg measurement of other hormones) is not required. If the symptoms do not bother the patient, treatment is not necessary; for bothersome symptoms, a single dose of cabergoline is usually effective. Use:
cabergoline 1 mg orally, as a single dose. normoprolactinaemic galactorrhoea cabergoline
