Thrombolytic therapy for STEMI

For advice on when to use thrombolytic therapy, see Indications for reperfusion therapy for STEMI and Choice of reperfusion therapy.

Patients who receive thrombolytic therapy should also be given a parenteral anticoagulant (enoxaparin or unfractionated heparin [UFH]), and dual antiplatelet therapy (aspirin plus clopidogrel).

After successful thrombolytic therapy, arrange transfer to a centre where percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) is available, with a plan for coronary angiography within 24 hoursIbanez, 2018.

If thrombolytic therapy was not successful, arrange immediate transfer to a centre with PCI.
