Ciclosporin
Ciclosporin is an immunosuppressant that effectively controls psoriasis; however, the condition recurs quickly when treatment is stopped (often within weeks). Ciclosporin is not recommended for continuous use because of long-term adverse effects (eg hypertension, deterioration of kidney function, hirsutism, gingival hyperplasia, lymphoma, gastrointestinal disturbances, liver dysfunction, dyslipidaemia, central nervous system effects). Ciclosporin has clinically significant interactions with many other drugs.
