Generalised pustular psoriasis
Pustular psoriasis can be localised or generalised.
When pustular psoriasis is localised, mainly to the hands and feet (pustular palmoplantar psoriasis), the patient can usually be managed in primary care—see here for information on localised pustular psoriasis.
Generalised pustular psoriasis can present suddenly as a generalised eruption of small pustules on erythematous skin, with fever and other systemic symptoms. Generalised pustular psoriasis is a dermatological emergency—urgently refer to hospital. See here for photos of generalised pustular psoriasis.
Generalised pustular psoriasis of pregnancy is a rare explosive form of pregnancy-induced pustular psoriasis—urgently refer for hospital assessment and management by a dermatologist.
