Consumer and parent support groups

Consumer groups (eg specific diagnosis interest groups, disability advocacy and support groups¹) can be major drivers in changing how services are delivered. They provide useful information for families and professionals, and are a source of support to families. Consumer groups also work with professionals and promote education, communication and research.
