Management overview for IgA vasculitis
Treatment for immunoglobulin A (IgA) vasculitis is usually symptomatic when the disease is not severe. This may involve analgesia and anti-inflammatory drugs, and rarely, systemic corticosteroids.
All patients need to be actively monitored for the development of nephritis because significant kidney involvement can be subclinical. See Monitoring for vasculitic IgA nephropathy for a suggested monitoring regimen.
All patients with IgA vasculitis should have their blood pressure documented at presentation and at each review.
