Treatment for arrhythmias

In general, avoid anti-arrhythmic drugs in the management of poisonings because they can have a pro-arrhythmic effect. For cardiorespiratory arrest and life-threatening arrhythmias, follow advanced life support protocols1 and seek advice from a clinical toxicologist.

See QRS widening and QT-interval prolongation for advice on treating arrhythmias associated with these cardiac abnormalities.
