Treatment for synthetic cannabinoid-receptor agonist poisoning
The treatment for synthetic cannabinoid-receptor agonist poisoning is primarily supportive care. Initial resuscitation with attention to airway, breathing and circulation may be required in severe cases (see Resuscitation for poisonings).
Treatment for synthetic cannabinoid-receptor agonist poisoning aims to:
- control acute behavioural disturbance (eg agitation, delirium) with sedation (see Sedation for poisonings)
- identify and urgently treat severe hyperthermia (see Cooling for drug-associated hyperthermia)
- treat complications if they arise (eg rhabdomyolysis).
No antidotes are available for synthetic cannabinoid-receptor agonists.
