Toxic dose

Toxicity of stimulant drugs is dose-dependent; however, variability in individual tolerance, and the inherent impurity of illicit drugs, makes it difficult to estimate toxic doses.

Generally, ingestion of more than 1 g of cocaine or metamfetamine is potentially lethal.

For dexamfetamine, methylphenidate and phentermine, doses less than 1 mg/kg are unlikely to result in toxicity. For pseudoephedrine, doses less than 15 mg/kg are unlikely to result in toxicity.
