Sedation

Pharmacological management of behaviour is not usually required in patients with neuroleptic malignant syndrome. Nonpharmacological approaches are preferred, but small titrated doses of diazepam may be useful for agitation. Sedation with antipsychotic drugs, such as droperidol, is absolutely contraindicated.
