Key investigations

Key investigations for clozapine poisoning are:

• electrocardiogram (ECG)
• full blood count in patients on long-term clozapine—measure leucocyte and granulocyte counts at presentation
• bedside bladder volumetric ultrasound scan every 4 hours—to detect urinary retention.

Serum clozapine concentration is not used for managing an acute ingestion.
