Gastric acid suppression

Proton-pump inhibitors (eg omeprazole) and histamine H₂-receptor antagonists (eg famotidine, nizatidine) are often used to reduce gastric acid secretion after caustic ingestions. However, no studies have demonstrated significant benefit from these therapies.
