First aid

Generally first aid is not undertaken because the initial effects of Irukandji syndrome are minor local effects and the sting site is not usually visible.

Transport patients with suspected Irukandji syndrome to hospital for supportive treatment of delayed effects such as pain and nausea, and assessment and treatment of any cardiac effects.
