Ulcer dressing
In patients with arterial leg ulcers, no dressing has been shown to improve wound healing over any other dressing. See Ulcer and wound dressings for advice on selecting an appropriate dressing.
Stable dry eschar (adherent, intact, without erythema or fluctuance) on the heel or foot serves as natural biological cover and should not be removed. However, if eschar becomes loose, soggy, malodorous or starts to ooze or separate from the edge, it should be removed.
