Cryptococcosis consolidation and eradication therapy
For patients requiring 3-phase antifungal therapy for cryptococcosis, once induction therapy has been completed, the patient requires consolidation therapy followed by eradication therapy (or suppression in patients who are persistently immunocompromised).
Fluconazole is routinely used for consolidation and eradication therapy. If the pathogen is not susceptible to fluconazole, seek expert advice for alternative regimens (eg voriconazole or other azoles).
