Practical information on using nitazoxanide
Nitazoxanide is an oral antiprotozoal drug with activity against Cryptosporidium species, Cyclospora cayetanensis and Giardia intestinalis. It is also used to treat liver fluke (Fasciola hepatica).
Adverse effects of nitazoxanide are usually mild and can include nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea and headache.
