Overview of microscopic polyangiitis
Microscopic polyangiitis (MPA) one of the 3 ANCA-associated vasculitides. It predominantly affects small blood vessels and typically occurs in people between 65 and 75 years of age. Microscopic polyangiitis often presents as an acute, rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis.
All people with microscopic polyangiitis require specialist management. Seek urgent specialist advice if there is a high index of suspicion for microscopic polyangiitis to determine if immediate treatment is required.
