Other therapies for primary dysmenorrhoea
Other options for treating primary dysmenorrhoea include local heat, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), acupressure, acupuncture, spinal manipulation and herbal and dietary preparations (eg thiamine, pyridoxine, magnesium, fish oil). Pain reduction has been demonstrated but studies are limited in size and quality. Exercise and psychological behavioural interventions have also shown benefit in small studies.
