Toxic dose

There is a high degree of individual variability in the toxic dose of isopropyl alcohol.

In adults and children, as little as 1 mL/kg of a 70% solution of isopropyl alcohol can cause mild symptoms of intoxication, and 4 mL/kg may cause coma and respiratory depressionSlaughter, 2014.

Ingestions of less than 30 mL of 70% isopropyl alcohol are unlikely to cause significant toxicity (other than vomiting) in children younger than 6 years oldStremski, 2000.
