Seizure control
For seizures due to isoniazid poisoning, first-line treatment is intravenous pyridoxine.
If intravenous pyridoxine is not immediately available in adequate dosage, or seizures are persistent or recurrent despite the use of pyridoxine, use titrated doses of intravenous benzodiazepines, rapidly escalating to barbiturates (eg phenobarbital [phenobarbitone]) if required for seizure control. Other anticonvulsants are not effective for isoniazid-induced seizures.
