Differential diagnoses of oral and oropharyngeal infection caused by Candida and related species
Denture-associated erythematous stomatitis involves sensitive erythematous lesions, often associated with Candida, confined to denture-bearing areas, particularly the palate. It may appear punctate, or smooth and red, and nodular hyperplasia may be observed; see Denture-associated erythematous stomatitis for a photo. For management, see Considerations in managing oral and oropharyngeal candidiasis in adults with dentures.
