Commonly missed health problems in people with developmental disability

Health problems that are commonly missed in people with developmental disability include:

  • constipation
  • obstructive sleep apnoea
  • oral and dental disease
  • gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD)
  • dysphagia
  • nutrition disorders
  • medication adverse effects
  • hearing and vision deficits
  • pain
  • psychiatric disorders.
