Management for granulomatosis with polyangiitis
Management for granulomatosis with polyangiitis should follow the principles outlined in Management for ANCA-associated vasculitides. For detailed management, see:
- Intensive induction therapy for ANCA-associated vasculitides—especially when there is sight- or other organ- or life-threatening disease
- Maintaining remission in ANCA-associated vasculitides.
Rarely, patients with granulomatosis with polyangiitis have limited disease (eg isolated sinus disease) that is not organ- or life-threatening. For these patients, treatment can be started with high-dose oral corticosteroids in combination with an immunomodulatory drug (eg methotrexate, mycophenolate).
