Clinical features of microscopic polyangiitis

Systemic features, such as fever, may be present before more specific symptoms of microscopic polyangiitis. It usually presents as an acute, rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis, and may be associated with pulmonary haemorrhage and palpable purpura in the skin.

Kidney impairment, pulmonary haemorrhage or other end-organ damage are indicators of poor prognosis.
