Sedation for delirium
Baclofen-associated delirium may be difficult to treat. Initial management includes sedation with benzodiazepines or a sedating antipsychotic drug, such as droperidol (see Sedation for poisonings).
Reinstitution of a lower dose of baclofen can also treat the delirium. If there is a response to this, baclofen withdrawal may have been contributing to delirium. Nonconvulsive status epilepticus can also present as delirium and can be excluded by an EEG.
